Paul F. Kirchner 1931 - 2010
Paul F. Kirchner, 78, of Chandlerville, passed away at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield at 3: 10 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2010. He was born September 6, 1931 in Cass County to Fred and Nellie (Fielden) Kirchner. He married Margaret E. Collins on February 28, 1953. Mr. Kirchner is survived by his wife Margaret of Chandlerville, daughter, Paula (Luke) Shores and son, Wesley (Marsha) Kirchner of Chandlerville as well as 5 grandchildren. Also surviving are brother, Richard (Norma) Kirchner of Chandlerville and sister, Muriel (Dennis) Reddish of Virginia as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved dog Angel. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Nelda. Mr. Kirchner was a member of the Sangamon Valley Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge #724 for 51 years, American Legion Post #694 and Beardstown Elks Lodge #1007. He had served as trustee and road commissioner for the Sangamon Valley Township. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Funeral services will be held at Lintner-Hurley Funeral Home in Chandlerville on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the services. A Masonic service will be held at 9:30 a.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Chandlerville Cemetery. Rev. Joey Phillips will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chandlerville Cemetery. Online memorial messages may be left for the family at www.hurleyfh.com.
