Perry Robert Juergens 1926 - 2008
Perry Robert Juergens, 82, of Petersburg, died on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 11:40 am at Menard Convalescent Center. He was born on February 28, 1926 in Petersburg to Herman and Mary Power Juergens. He married Mary Estill in Petersburg on December 23, 1950. He is survived by two step daughters, Shirley Kafka of Roswell, NM, and Betty Barbee of Arkansas; companion, Rita Estill of Springfield; one brother, Dale (Margaret Arlene) Juergens of Petersburg; one sister, Thelma (Jim) Blizek of Petersburg; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and eleven great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary and one brother, Fred Juergens. Mr. Juergens was a life member of the VFW Post 6871. He was also a member of the Masonic Clinton Lodge #19 AF & AM of Petersburg. He had been a farmer and a truck driver. He had also worked at Sangamo Electric for years. He was a US Army veteran serving in WWII. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2008 at 11:30 am at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Pastor Jeffrey Gross will be officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Petersburg.
