Oakford, IL - Edgar "Pete" Koch, 80, of Oakford, IL passed away at 2:41 am Friday Sept. 1, 2006 at his residence. He was born April 8, 1926 in Jacksonville, IL the son of Harrison and Elsie Bahl Koch. He married Mary Ann Lynn April 8, 1950 in Petersburg, IL and she survives.

Mr. Koch was a retired farmer and a retired mail carrier. He was a member of the Oakford United Methodist Church, The Petersburg VFW, Chandlerville American Legion Post, Lodge #724 AF & AM of Chandlerville and the Oakford Kiwanis.

He is survived by three daughters, Lynne (Michael) Carpenter of Klamath Falls, OR; Mindy (Doug) Juergens of Hendersonville, NC; and Dianne (Don) Irwin of Tifton, GA. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, one brother, Bob (Pauline) Koch of Tallula; and two sisters, Dana Eckhoff of Cantrall and Vi Cox of Tallula. He was preceded in death by one brother.

Services will be held at 3:00 pm Wed. Sept. 6, 2006 at the Oakford United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Dennis Smith. Burial will be in the Lynn Hickey Cemetery in rural Oakford. Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 pm Tuesday at the Oakford United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oakford United Methodist Church or VNA Hospice.
