Phyllis Jean Ash

1928 - 2010

Phyllis Jean Ash, 81, of Kilbourne, passed away at Mason District Hospital in Havana at 6:10 a.m. on Friday, July 23, 2010. She was born August 8, 1928 in East Peoria to Nicholas Amos and Clara Ella (Spellman) Gale. She married Bueford DeWayne Ash in East Peoria on November 22, 1947. He preceded her in death on January 7, 1997.

Mrs. Ash is survived by one son, David Ash of New Orleans, LA, three daughters, Lynn (Bob) McDaniel of Kilbourne, Lorene (Jeff) Ebken of Kilbourne, Ginger (Mark) McGinnis of Havana, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and 12 brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Ash worked at Atwood Industries in Havana until 1981 and later worked at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg before retiring.

Funeral services will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana at Noon on Monday, July 26, 2010 with visitation two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow the services at Kilbourne Cemetery.
