Phyllis J. Silva

1930 - 2011

Havana, IL – Phyllis Silva, 81, of Havana passed away at 6:15 pm Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011 at her home. She was born April 7, 1930 in East Andover, Maine the daugher of Erville W. and Blanche B. (Crooker) Schneider. She married Gilbert F. Silva August 31, 1952 in Plymouth, MA and he survives.

Mrs. Silva worked for many years as a florist at Knoles Flowers in Havana and later Grants Florist in Havana. Prior to moving to Havana she was a CNA/LPN.

She is survived by four sons; Daren (Becky) Silva of Havana, Timothy G. (Mary) Silva of Ft. Madison, IA, Brian P. Silva of Havana and Mark (Gail) Silva of New Berlin, IL and one daughter, Crystal (Mike) Ellman of Naperville, IL. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and one sister Beatrice Schneider of East Andover, ME, She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am Friday Oct. 28, 2011 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Havana conducted by Fr. David Whiteside. Burial will follow in the Laurel Hill Cemetery at Havana. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Disease Research, 22512 Gateway Center Dr, P.O.
