Ray "Sonny" W. Rabbe

(1930-2010)

Ray “Sonny” W. Rabbe, 79, of Mason City passed away on August 5, 2010 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.  He was born December 7, 1930 in Mason City, the son of Gerald and Dorothy (Pruitt) Rabbe.  He married Mary A. Sullivan December 27, 1952 in Somerspoint, NJ.  She Survives. 

Ray worked as a security guard/fireman for Caterpillar, retiring October 1, 1992.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran.  He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Mason City, the American Legion, and the AMVETS.  

He is survived by three sons Gerald R. (Kelly) Rabbe of Cantrall, Kenneth M. Rabbe of Mason City, and Thomas R. (Jayne) Rabbe of Horsham, PA., Seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and one sister Doris Jean (William) Mahl of Peoria. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.  

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday August 9, 2010 at Christ Lutheran Church with Pastor John Johnson officiating.  Visitation will be held from 5-7 Sunday August 8, 2010 at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City.  Memorials may be left to American Legion Flag Fund. 

Burial will be in Mason City Cemetery.
