Raymond VanCleve Sr. of Greenview, IL; died 7:18 a.m. Wednesday, 18 May 2005 at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL. He was born 12 May 1941 to Jesse and Eva (Copley) VanCleve. He married Shelia Fox in April of 1968.
Survivors include his wife, 2 sons: Darrell (Sandy) VanCleve of Lincoln, IL, Jake (Tammy) VanCleve of Greenview, IL; 4 daughters: Carrie (fiancee-Hershel McBride) of Springield, IL, Paula (Geoff) Gossett of Lincoln, IL, Sheryl Hudson (companion-David) of Lincoln, IL, Teresa (Jeff) Hawkins of Timewell, IL; 2 brothers: Fred (Ruth) VanCleve of Jacksonville, IL and Danny VanCleve of Ashland, IL; sister: Kay Brownfield of Mason City, IL; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.
Mr. VanCleve worked at Royster Clark in Mason City for 30 years as a Special Equipment operator and as a Chemical and Fertilizer applicator. Before that he had worked at Baugher Implement in Greenview for 12 years. He also enjoyed collecting Cub Cadets and mowing grass.
A visitation was held 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, 20 May 2005 at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City, IL. A private graveside was held 23 May 2005 at Elmwood Cemetery in Greenview, IL with the Rev. Roger James offficiating. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Donor's Choice.
