Raymond F. Dye Jr.

1938-2010

Raymond F. Dye, 72, a lifetime resident of Mason City, IL died Friday April 23, 2010 at Memorial Hospital in Springfield, IL.  He was born on January 1, 1938 to Raymond and Lena (Rabbe) Dye. 

“Ray” Retired from Caterpillar and then remained active in construction, golfing, fishing and he loved spending time with his five grandchildren. 

He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Marg, one daughter Carrie (Joe) Schonauer of Lincoln, IL and one son Brad (Joline) Dye of Ames, IA.  He is also survived by five grandchildren: Derrick and Christian Schonauer, Jamie (Erik) Bunker, Allison and Kelsie Dye.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. 

A memorial gathering to celebrate his life will be held Monday, April 26, 2010 from 4-7 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to the Raymond F. Dye Memorial Fund where donations will be made to St. Jude’s and Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
