Raymond George Otto Krusemark 1910 - 2006
Raymond George Otto Krusemark, 95 of Mason City, died at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield at 9:05 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2006. He was born December 8, 1910 in New Holland, IL to Ernest C. and Clara (Hilgendorf) Krusemark. He married Irene Imig on October 4, 1934 at the Lutheran Parsonage in New Holland. She survives. Mr. Krusemark is survived by his wife Irene of Mason City; one son Calvin Krusemark of Mason City; two daughters: Cheryl (Dean) Harfst of Easton, IL and Sue (Larry) Willis of East Peoria; and one brother Harold (Roberta) Krusemark of Emden, IL. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Peggy (John) Means, Nancy (Larry) Gunterman, Gina (Scott) Schwader, Rob (Susan) Harfst, Jonathan Harfst, Jeff (Carol) Willis, Gregg (Suzie) Willis, and Scott (Tammy) Willis, twenty-four great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers. Mr. Krusemark had formerly operated a gas station in Emden, IL, worked on highway maintenance when IL Rt. 136 was being paved, worked as a bullet maker during WWII at the R.G. LeTourneau in Peoria, and then started farming in 1944. He retired from farming in 1992. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Mason City, where he had helped build the current church building. He was a member of the Mason County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed playing cards and was a loyal Cubs fan. Funeral services will be held at his church on Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday evening at the Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City. Burial will be at Mason City Cemetery following the services. Rev. Kirk Cunningham will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church for the purchase of new hymnals.
