Havana, IL – Richard H. Moehring, 80, of Havana passed away on May 4, 2011 at the Mason District Hospital. He was born December 1, 1930 in San Jose, IL to Theodore and Meta Grube Moehring. He married Betty Jane Kendall on December 2, 1948. She preceded him in death on January 3, 2000.

He is survived by a daughter, Diane (Gary) Bahl of Havana, IL; two sons, William (Pat) Moehring of Mahomet, IL and James (Ann) Moehring of Ottawa, IL, sister, Norma Jean (Marvin) Kreiling of St. Charles, MO, five grandchildren, Sean (Cara) O'Brien, Washington, IL, Ashley Moehring, Austin, TX, Noah Moehring, Taylorville, IL, Caley Moehring, Seattle, WA, and Katie Moehring, Taylorville, IL; four great grandchildren, Regan O'Brien, Mazzy O'Brien, Kendall Moehring, and Josie O'Brien, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife and his brother, Robert Moehring of Colorado Springs, CO.

Mr. Moehring was a graduate of San Jose High School. He farmed in Mason County for 38 years and operated a hardware store in Havana for many years. He attended Christ Lutheran Church in Mason City and St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Havana.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2011 from 10:00 am until noon at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Immediately following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana conducted by Pastor John Johnson.
