Richard Froebol Berberet 1913 -2008 Richard Froebol Berberet, 95 of Mason City , died at 11:55am Saturday, September 6, 2008 at his residence. He was born July 30, 1913, the son of Thomas John and Genevieve (Froebol) Berberet in Springfield , IL . He married Blanche M. Norton, September 3, 1948 in Mason City , she died December 2004. Survivors are two sons: Tom (Bev) Berberet of Havana, Jim (Barb) Berberet of Canton, MI; one daughter: Jean Krider of Westerfield , OH ; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one brother. Mr. Berberet was a member of the US Navy during WWII, a member of Jackson-Keen Post #496, retired volunteer Mason City Fireman. Mr. Berberet was a painter and worked as a Reactor Operator at Corn Products in Pekin , retiring in 1978. Graveside services will be 10:30am, Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at the Mason City Cemetery , Rev. Curtis McCallister will officiate. Memorial contributions may be left to Jackson-Keen Post #496 of Mason City Fire Department. Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City is in charge of arrangements.
