Alvena Ringhouse

Havana, IL - Alvena Marie Katherine Ringhouse, 97, of 203 N. Harpham St., Havana, IL passed away at 11:59 pm Fri. Jan. 20, 2006 at the Mason District Hospital in Havana. She was born July 24, 1908 in Sherman Twp., Mason County, the daughter of Fred and Christina Schone Koke. She married Eugene Charles Ringhouse Jan. 5, 1928 in Havana and he died June 25, 1999.

Mrs. Ringhouse is survived by four daughters, Lila Dark of Macomb, IL; Bernice Hall of Havana, IL; Rosalie Conklin of Springfield, IL and Mary Ann See of Chillicothe, IL. Two sons also survive, Robert (Carolyn) Ringhouse and Kenneth (Sandy) Ringhouse both of Easton, IL. Twenty grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Stewart and two brothers, Raymond and Delbert Koke.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana, St. Paul’s Ladies Aid, Mason County Home Extension, and a leader for several years of Chaney Happy Hour 4-H Club.

Services will be held at 11:00 am Tues. Jan. 24, 2005 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church conducted by Pastor Martin W. Liebmann with burial in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 pm Monday at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Memorial Contributions may be made to her church or Mason District Hospital Foundation.
