1925-2009
Mildred A. Robbins, 84, of Punta Gorda, Florida died on October 7, 2009 in Punta Gorda. She was born July 6, 1925 in Menard County, IL, the daughter of Asa T. and Mary A. (McClintick) Huffman. She married Verlin M. Robbins on August 21, 1948 in Springfield, IL. He preceded her in death. Surviving is one son: Theodore (Mary) Robbins of Springfield, IL. Three grandchildren: Patricia, Stephanie and Rachael. Eight great grandchildren. One sister: Marilyn Kaar of Locust Grove VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters; Ruth Wheeler and Dorothy Huffman and one brother; Donald Huffman. Mildred attended Lanphier High School in Springfield, IL where she was a member of the Acopola Choir. She graduated in the class of 1943. She was a former member of the Third Presbyterian Church in Springfield, IL. Funeral services will be at 10:00am, Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Pastor Joe Briseno will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Animal Protective League.
