Robert Lester Handke, 82, of Lincoln, died at 5:55am on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.  He was born on December 31, 1928 the son of Fred and Hazel (Hindahl) Handke in San Jose.

Mr. Handke is survived by several nieces and nephews and one brother; Jame Handke of Crystal Lake, IL.  Also survived by his brother-in law; Raymond Renken.  He is preceded in death by his parents, and one sister; Joann K. Renken.

Mr. Handke served in the United States Army during WWII and was a farmer.

There will be no services; a private family service will take place at a later date.  Cremation rights have been accorded.  Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City is in charge of arrangements.  Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care of Illinois, ALMH or donor’s choice.
