Robert Vernon Lough

(1928-2011)

Robert Vernon Lough, 83, of Mason City went to be with his savior at 3:10am on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center.  He was born on March 2, 1928 the son of Vernon Clinton and Alice Cecilia (Saunders) Lough in Jacksonville, IL.  He married Patricia Wilcoxson on September 20, 1963 in Manito, IL.  She died on July 5, 2011. 

Also surviving are six children; Kimberly (Stacy) Boughan of Mason City, Tamara Beard of Mason City, Todd Lough of Macomb, Amy (Daniel) Boucek , Gina (Ty) Horn of Mason City and Hope (David) Tinnin of Warrenton, Mo., 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by one brother, James Francis Lough of Armington. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and one granddaughter, Heidi Lowe.

Robert was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Mason City.  He was a loving husband, wonderful father and grandfather.  Robert was a carpenter, also worked for the Eastside Sand Company and Wareco Gas Station.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Christ Lutheran Church in Mason City at 11:00 a.m.  Pastor John Johnson will officiate.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorial donations may be left in care of the family.   Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City is in charge of the arrangements.  Online memorials for the family may be left at www.hurleyfh.com.
