Robert Mill Estill

Robert Mills Estill, 81, of Estill Springs, TN, died on November 4, 2008 in Winchester, TN. He was born on May 14, 1927 in Greenview to Frank and Mildred Pond Estill. He married Barbara Schurman in Greenview on February 10, 1952.

 

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara of Estill Springs, TN; son, Mark Estill of Rochester, IL; a daughter, Tracy (Tom) Jackson of Franklin, TN; a grandson, Andrew Estill of Chatham, IL; a granddaughter, Andrea Estill of Chatham; a great grandson, Judah Estill of Chatham; a sister, Glenna Hagney of Washington, IL; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Estill; mother, Mildred McClintick; and step father, Clyde McClintick.

 

Mr. Estill was a US Army veteran serving in WWII and during the Korean Conflict.

 

He had worked as a grain broker at Ashland Farmers Elevator. He had been a private pilot, a cattle driver in Oklahoma, and had volunteered at New Salem State Park in Petersburg. He was a charter member of AMVETS, and past District commander. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Greenview.

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 7th, 2008 at 11:00 am at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service.

Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Greenview, IL.
