Robert Watkins (1925-2008) Robert Watkins, 83 of Morton, passed away at 7:15am, Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Hallmark House Nursing Home Center in Pekin. He was born November 26, 1925 the son of Luster and Ida (Skaggs) Watkins in Peoria. Surviving is one daughter: Anne Headings of Green Valley. Mr. Watkins is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Georgianne. Mr. Watkins graduated from San Jose High School. Bob retired from Civil Service at Ft Campbell, KY. He served in WWII as a US Navy Submariner with the Pacific Fleet. He was an official farrier during the 1960’s at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, and avid member of the Pekin RC radio controlled flying club. Services will be 2:00pm, Saturday, December 20, 2008 at the Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City, visitation one hour prior to service, Rev. Curt McCallister will officiate, burial at the Mason City Cemetery. Memorials may be left to Pekin RC Club.
