Robert Otho Ellmore 1918 - 2007
Robert Otho Ellmore, 89, originally of Easton , died 12:41pm, September 9, 2007
at the Mason City Area Nursing Home. He was born February 17, 1918 the son
of Mark G. and Florence (Bruning) Ellmore in Easton . He married Frances
Cave on July 31, 1937; she died November 24, 1999.
Survivors are one son-in-law: James Bergman of Mason City; three grandsons: Greg
(Susan) Bergman of Chester, NJ, Gary (Deborah) of Charlotte, NC, Todd (Theresa)
Bergman of St. Louis, MO; six great-grandchildren: Hillary, Matthew, Alexander,
Ryan, Abigail and William Bergman, all of whom loved him deeply. He was
preceded in death by his wife, Frances and one daughter, Roberta Ann.
Mr. Ellmore and his wife owned and operated the Western Auto and True Value
hardware store in Mason City for 33 years before retiring in 1980. He was
a very active member and position holder of the Methodist Church in Mason City ,
a past master of the Masonic Lodge, the Elks Club, Ansar Shrine, Mason City
Council member and on the Board of Directors for Lincoln Memorial Hospital .
He will be missed by his family and friends.
Services will be 11:00am Friday, September 14, 2007 at the United Methodist
Church in Mason City ; the Rev. Stephen King will officiate. Visitation
will one hour prior to service. Memorial contributions may be made his
church, Mason City Area Nursing Home or American Cancer Society. Hurley
Funeral Home in Mason City is in charge of arrangements.
