Robert R. Roum

(1924-2005)

Robert R. Roum, 81 of Mason City, IL died at 12:50 p.m. on October 26, 2005 at the Mason City Area Nursing Home. He was born to Samuel and Thea Marie (Rindahl) Roum on April 16, 1924 in Cambridge, WI. He married Clarice Nelson in Stoughton, WI on August 12, 1950. She survives in Mason City.

He is survived by his wife, one son: Darrell (Debbie) Roum of Rockford, IL and one daughter: Denise (Steve) Arnold of San Jose, IL, 4 grandchildren, 15 nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews. One sister, Betty (Karl) Johnson of Janesville, WI also survives. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters, 1 brother and one nephew who was killed in Viet Nam.

He was a member of the Mason City United Presbyterian Church where he was an elder and served as a Trustee and a Deacon. He was a member of the Mason City Masonic Lodge. He volunteered at the Mason City Area Nursing Home as well as the Mason City Meals on Wheels and Mason City Food Pantry. He was a WWII Veteran in the Army. He worked for several years as a salesman for the Central Soya Company out of Ft. Wayne, IN

Services will be held on Saturday October 29, 2005 at the Mason City Presbyterian Church at 11:00 a.m. and visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., also at the church. Rev. Randall Paine will officiate. Burial will be held at the Mason City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to his church or the Mason City Area Nursing Home.
