Ronald Lee Hyde, Sr. (1943 - 2009)
Ronald Lee Hyde, Sr., 66, of Tallula, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at his residence. He was born on July 25, 1943 in Springfield, IL to Vincent E. and Julia Wassell Hyde. He married Zelma Price on October 30, 1977. He is survived by his wife, Zelma of Tallula; four sons, Ronald Lee (Michelle) Hyde, Jr. of Springfield; Michael C. (Pam) Hyde of Springfield; Donald E. Hyde of Springfield; Harold Gathard; four daughters, Barbara (David) Kemp of Illiopolis, Tamora Rickie Hyde of Petersburg, Rhonda (Greg) Tobin of Petersburg, and Tabatha M. Hyde of Tallula; one brother, Richard Hyde of California; twenty grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Two brothers preceded him in death. Mr. Hyde retired after working for Springfield Airport Authority for 29 years. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Havana. He was also a member of Laborers Union Local #477. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 21, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Petersburg. Father Anthony Pilli will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2009 from 3:00 p.m. till 5:00 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to his family to assist with funeral expenses.
