O. Rose Oswald

(1907-2005)

Rose Oswald of Havana, died 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, 11 May 2005 at Mason City Area Nursing Home.  She was born 15 January 1907 to Leonard and Lydia (Boggs) Ferree in Mason County, Illinois.  In Havana, IL she married Carl E. Oswald in September of 1937. He died in 1951.

Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Max (Patricia) Thompson of Havana, IL and Mrs. James A. (Mary) Cohee of Mapletown, IL.  6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren also survive.  She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

Mrs. Oswald was a registered nurse and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Havana, IL.

Services for Rose will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church in Havana, IL.  The Rev. Robert Smith will be officiating.  The visitation will be held one hour prior to the services on Friday.  Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Mason District Hospital or Memorial Hospital Alumni Association (Spfld, IL).
