Russel H. Ruppel 1928 - 2008
Russel H. Ruppel, 80, of Tallula, died on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 7:00 a.m. at his residence. He was born on January 4, 1928 in Petersburg to Edwin and Frieda Jurgens Ruppel. He married Frances Rogers on June 24, 1956 in Athens. He is survived by his wife, Frances of Tallula; a son, R. Duane (Tammy) Ruppel of Tallula; a brother, Richard Ruppel of Chandlerville; a sister, Shirley Pritchett of Indiana; and two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Skyler. His parents, and a brother, Glenn, preceded him in death. Mr. Ruppel was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He had been the clerk for the Menard County Road District #7 for many years. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Rev. Jeffrey Gross will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 24, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
