Ruth Ann Shawgo

(1944 -2010)

Ruth Ann Shawgo, 66, of Petersburg went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at her residence.

She was born on July 20, 1944, to Richard V. and Betty J. Colby-Lounsberry. Her parents, and a sister, Teresa Lounsberry, precede her in death.

Surviving are her children, Jana M. (Wade) Metzger and Richard R. (Terri) Shawgo; grandchildren, Kirk B.Metzger, Trent M. Metzger, Zach T. Witherell, Spencer D. Shawgo, and Mason B. Shawgo; and a sister, Sharon (Bill) Barnhill of Chatham.

She was a member of Rock Creek Presbyterian Church, Four Square Gospel Church, Hadassah, and the Menard County Garden Club. She tutored school children in reading and she enjoyed painting, herb gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. She retired in 2009 from the State of Illinois.
