Margaret Ruth Blane
(1924-2011)
Margaret Ruth Blane, 87, of Mason City, died at 8:55am on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at the Mason City Area Nursing Home. She was born on July 9, 1924 the daughter of Russell and Mildred (Keen) Yardley in Mason County. Ruth married Wayne Blane in Mason City on February 9, 1947.
Survivors are her husband Wayne; two daughters: Lynn (Mike) Adams of Washington, Becky (Ronnie) Lynn of Easton; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; one brother: Paul Yardley.
Mrs. Blane is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Jule, one grandson, Blane and one brother, Bob.
Mrs. Blane was a member of the Mason City United Presbyterian Church, Euterpean Society, HEH, IMEA, Mason City Area Nursing Home Board, and DAR. She was in the Army Nurses Corp, was an organist for over 50 years and accompanied the school for many years. Ruth was a nurse for Dr. Jack Means in Mason City for 36 years.
Services will be at 2:00pm, Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the United Presbyterian Church, visitation will be Friday from 5-7 at the church and one hour prior to service. Burial will be at Mason City Cemetery. Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City is in charge of arrangements. Memorials can be left to her church of the Mason City Area Nursing Home.
