Havana, IL - Ruth McGrew, 91, of 320 E. Main St., Havana, IL died at 5:42 am Wed. March 1, 2006 at the Mason City Area Nursing Home in Mason City. She was born Feb. 24, 1915 in Peoria, IL the daughter of Arthur and Alice Peters Hoferer. She married Jerauld E. McGrew Sept. 2, 1934 in Peoria and he died Nov. 21, 1969.

She is survived by three sons, Ronald of Fruita, CO; Steven of Acworth, GA; and Charles of Longwood, FL. Seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. McGrew is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Havana and was a pole watcher at elections.

Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday at the First United Methodist Church of Havana conducted by Rev. Robert Smith. Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery at Havana. Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 pm Sunday at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana.
