Sarah J. Fowler

1933 - 2011

Sarah J. Fowler, 78, of Havana, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 16, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at Mason District Hospital in Havana, IL. She was born March 28, 1933, in Whitehall, IL, to Harold J. and Pansey Hutton Smith. She married Felix J. (Jack) Fowler in Virden, IL on February 19, 1955, he survives.

Sarah is survived by her five children, Steve (fiancé Karen) Fowler of Athens, IL, Craig (Vicky) Fowler of Tallula, IL, Jeanean Fowler of Springfield, IL, Zane Fowler of Havana, IL, Mark (fiancé Casey) Fowler of Havana, IL. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren and one sister Daloris (Lou) Forbes of Morrisonville, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents Harold J. and Pansey Hutton Smith, two sisters Donna and Mittie, one brother Harold and one grandson Justin.

Sarah was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Havana, IL. She enjoyed spending her free time out in her garden. Sarah enjoyed, most of all, spending time with her family. Sarah worked for CIPS, Federated Funeral Directors of America and worked for the attorney general’s office in Springfield, IL. Sarah’s favorite job of all was being a homemaker and mother.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Havana. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded after the services. Memorials can be made to Pets without Parents.
