Cheryl Jean "Sherry" Richardson

1944 -2010

Cheryl Jean "Sherry" Richardson, 66, of Bath passed away at 7:58 a.m. on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Mason District Hospital in Havana. She was born September 13, 1944 in Bath, IL to Charles and Irene (Watkins) DeFord. She married Richard L. "Dicky" Richardson in Bath on March 2, 1963. He preceded her in death on August 1, 1989.

Mrs. Richardson is survived by one daughter, Robin Daniels of Bath, four grandchildren, Zack (Ashley), Luke (Dana), Alexandria, Abigail and two great-granddaughters who loved their Nanny dearly, Karlie "Jo Jo" and Madison. She is also survived by her step-mother, Francis DeFord of Bath as well as five sisters, Sandy (Finis) Hutchison of Bath, Karen Cook of Virginia, IL, Cindy (Jens) Hansen of Haslev, Denmark, Judy Evans of Anacartes, WA, Christine (Guy) Willis of Rochester, IL, and six brothers, David (Bonnie) DeFord, Donnie DeFord, Kenny (Betty) DeFord, Jerry (Kay) DeFord, all of Bath, Michael DeFord of Havana and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Richard "Dicky Bird", and one brother, Brian.

Mrs. Richardson had attended services at the Nazarene Church. She had worked as a cook and caretaker at Grand Island Lodge for the past 30 years. She had also operated several restaurants in the area.

Funeral services will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2010 with visitation one hour prior to the services. Rev. Aaron Blakely will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Bath Cemetery.
