Shirley Ann Jones

1929 - 2006

Shirley Ann Jones, 77, of Oakford, died at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield at 3:05 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2006. She was born, June 4, 1929 in Petersburg to John and Velma (Vogt) Tibbs. She married Earl C. Jones on February 14, 1951. He preceded her in death in 1981.

Mrs. Jones is survived by two daughters: Betty Ann (Robert) Phillips of Havana and Sarah (Neal) Norris of Oakford; one brother, Harold (Mary) Tibbs of Hanna City and one brother-in-law, Kenneth Magee of Petersburg. Also surviving are two grandchildren; Michael Norris of Van Buren, MO and Melissa Norris of Oakford, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, Bernard Tibbs and one sister, Mary Magee.

Mrs. Jones was a member of the Oakford United Methodist Church. She was also a 1946 graduate of Petersburg Harris High School.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jones will be held Saturday, July 29, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at her church. Visitation will be Friday evening at the Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
