Sophia Mae Doyle

1927 - 2006

Sophia Mae Doyle, 78 of Mason City, died at Memorial Medical Center at 1:48 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2006. She was born August 13, 1927 to Clarence and Francis (Cross) Adkins in Mason County, IL. She married Paul Doyle on November 10, 1946 in San Jose, IL. 

Mrs. Doyle is survived by her husband, Paul, of Mason City; three sons: Dan (Susan) Doyle of Mendota, IL, Mike (Beth) Doyle of Batesville, IN and Jeff (Julie) Doyle of Mason City; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters: Clarencetta (Harold) McCoy of Delavan, IL, Mardelle (Robert) Bergman of Mason City and one brother: Jack (Marilyn) Adkins of Turtle Lake, ND.

She was a member of the Mason City United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Mason City Legion Auxiliary and had served on the Mason County Health Board for many years.

Funeral services will be held at the Mason City United Methodist Church on Thursday, May 18, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation held two hours prior to the service. Rev. Stephen King will officiate.  Burial will be at Mason City Cemetery.
