Stanley Leibert
Stillman, 71 of Middletown, formerly of Easton, IL passed away at 9:25 AM
Saturday, October 9, 2010 at home surrounded by family and friends after a long
and courageous battle against lung cancer.
Stanley was
born January 16, 1939 in Champaign-Urbana, IL to Stanley H. Stillman and Mary L.
Stucker. He worked construction after serving in the United States Army. He
would often help his parents with their Tavern in Bath, IL known as Stan and
Lou’s. During his later years, he worked as a semi driver for Davidson Trucking
of New Holland.
One of
Stanley's greatest passions was the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing,
boating and running a trotline on the Illinois River, camping and simply running
his johnboat up and down the river. He was an avid collector of guns and "what
not." He enjoyed sharing his gun collection with friends and family.
He leaves
behind his fiancee Dixie Witherall of Middletown, IL, his children: Satsunder
(Stan) Khalsa, Madison WI, Kimberly Stillman, Palentine, IL, Eric (Angie)
Stillman, Havana, IL, Kelli (Alvaro) Ponce-Landaverde, Peoria, IL, Shane (Anne)
Stillman, Valparaiso, IN, Shawn (Theresa) Stillman, Indian Head Park, IL,
Kanaan (Jim) Kieme, Cuba, IL, Joshua Stillman, Clearwater, FL, John W.
(Michelle) Witherall, Jacob Witherall, Easton, IL, 19 grandchildren, nine great
grandchildren, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
He was preceded
in death by his parents and one grand daughter Madison Lee Witherall.
Visitations
will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday, October 11th at Hurley Funeral Home in
Havana, IL. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Stanley-s name to
Pete Fish & Skiles Bank, Havana, IL to help with funeral expenses.
