Havana, IL - Stella V. "Dot" Smith, 68, of 611 W. Tinkham St., Havana, IL died at 7:30 pm Tues. March 21, 2006 at the Mason District Hospital in Havana. She was born March 7, 1938 in Meredosia, IL the daughter of Andy and Ollie V. McDannald. She married Edward Mitchel "Mitch" Smith March 25, 1954 in Meredosia and he survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Claudia S. Riner of Havana, IL and Katherine Jo Santiago of Evansville, IN, two sons, Edward M. Smith, Jr. And Daniel W. Smith both of Havana, ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three brothers, Kenneth McDannald of Iowa, Howard McDannald of Jacksonville, IL and Joe McDannald of Yulee, FL and three sisters, Garnetta Collet of Knoxville, TN, Elta Mae Lewis of Quincy, IL and Wanda L. Scott of Meredosia. He was preceded in death by one brother, Sherman Johnson, and one great granddaughter, Sophia Roddis.

Mrs. Smith worked as a waitress for several restaurants, as a production worker for Kordite in Jacksonville, IL and drove school buses for the Meredosia School District for ten years.
