Timothy Ray Kelton 1955 - 2008
Timothy Ray Kelton, 53, of Petersburg, died on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 8:30 pm at his residence. He was born on October 11, 1955 in Dos Palos, California to Willis Ray and Wilma Wiggins Kelton. He married Marilyn Moyer in 1977. He is survived by his children, T.J. and Jacob Kelton, of Springfield, and Meghan and Nicholas Kelton of Petersburg; his mother, Wilma (John) Nerone of Springfield; a brother, Vernon (Janet) Kelton of Blocker, OK; a sister, Linda Dempsey of Jacksonville; six nieces; one nephew; and four great nephews. His father preceded him in death. He attended Rock Creek Presbyterian Church in Rock Creek and Living Faith Baptist Church in Sherman. He coached baseball, soccer, and softball. He was a member of American Bowling Association, was a former Boy Scout leader, and a member of the Local 137. He was self-employed as a heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration technician, and also as a locksmith. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 24, 2008 at 11:00 am at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Pastor Mark Emerson will be officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 23, 2008 from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery in Rock Creek, IL.
