Velma Marie Johnson (1921 -2009) Velma Marie Johnson, 88, of Tallula, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on September 19, 1921 in Tallula to Robert and Goldie Purvine Eades. She married Glenn Hinrichs. He passed away September 29, 1979. She later married Carl Johnson of Tallula. A nephew, James Michael Johnson of Effingham, survives her. She was preceded in death by both husbands, Carl Johnson and Glenn Hinrichs; her son, Gregory Hinrichs; a sister, Dolores Hinrichs Sampson; a nephew, Roger Hinrichs; and a niece, Vanna Sandhaas. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Free Church. A private graveside service was held on Friday, November 20, 2009 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Petersburg. Rev. Julie Wells-Blythe officiated.
