Vera Marie Oest 1929 - 2009
Vera Marie Oest, 80, of Lincoln, passed away at Lincoln Christian Village Nursing Home at 1:47 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2009. She was born February 2, 1929 to Willard and Norma (Ogden) Neely. Mrs. Oest is survived by one son, Garry Oest of Havana and one daughter, Kathy (Frank) Cook of Des Moines, IA, sister-in-laws Wanda Neely of Springfield, IL, Katherine Oest, Clarice Oest, Pauline Hackman, all of Havana and E.M. Raquet, 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 1 brother, Robert Neely, sister-in-law, Bernice Wallace, brother-in-laws Wilbur and Raymond Oest and one great grandchild. Mrs. Oest worked for Gene Hermann Insurance and Snider Insurance in Havana for over 40 years. She was a member of the Havana Church of Christ and the Business and Professional Women’s Association. Funeral services will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the services. Warren Hughes will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Walker’s Grove Cemetery near Easton. Memorial contributions may be made to her church. Online memorial messages may be left for the family at www.hurleyfh.com.
