Victor Brent Bishop
1956 - 2011

Victor Brent Bishop was born on
July 27, 1956, in Canton the first
of four children to Gloria (Pollitt) Kaler and Jim Bishop.
He died the morning of Saturday, October 8, 2011, at the age of 55 in
Havana.
Victor graduated in 1975 from
Balyki High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1978 to 1982 on the USS
Davidson FF 1045. Following his
naval discharge, he lived and worked in Jacksonville, Florida, until 2010 when
he returned to Illinois after suffering a stroke.
In years past he enjoyed
playing baseball, was a passionate
drummer and loved music. He dreamed
of being on stage with bands such as Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Victor was quite the fun loving person.
He loved his family and friends, but he especially adored his mother and
son.
Victor is survived by his
mother, Gloria Kaler, of Chandlerville; son, Brent Bishop and wife, Terrica,
granddaughter, Autumn, and
grandson, Jayden, all of Jacksonville, FL; one sister, Amy (Mack) Ishmael of
Chandlerville; and brothers, Chris (Deb) Bishop and Kent Bishop of Havana, Henry
Kaler of Chandlerville, Matt Kaler of Bath, Ashley Bishop
and Tennyson Barker of Havana.
Visitation will be on
Wednesday, October 12, 2011, from 5-7 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana.
Memorial services will be held at a later date on his son’s ship, the USS
Underwood FFG 36.
