Wayne R. Jones (1916-2006) Wayne R. Jones, 90, of Easton, Illinois, died October 17, 2006, 5:35pm at Mason City Area Nursing Home. He was born in rural Easton, August 11, 1916 to L. Luther and Virginia E. (Hovey) Jones. He married Virgie E. Close on August 13, 1938 in Clayton MO., they had four children, she preceded him in death on August 14, 1967, and he later married Ferne W. Thompson on September 14, 1968, she also precedes him in death on December 28, 1996. Survivors include two sons: Roger A. (Patsy) Jones of Mesa, AZ and David B. (Linda) Jones of Rochester, IL; two daughters: Linda L. (Joe) Merlo of Mesa AZ and Janet S. (Don) Hull of Clarksville, TN. He also has nine grandchildren and nine great-children. Mr. Jones graduated of Easton High School in 1934. He was self employed for over 30 years, known as Jones General Trucking Business for over 30 years, he then owned and operated Jones LP Gas Service until he retired in 1978 at the age of 62. He enjoyed buying and selling automobiles, and traveling to Florida for the winter. Mr. Jones is preceded in death by two wives, parents, two sisters and one brother. Memorial Service will be held October 21, 2006, 4:00pm at Hurley Funeral in Mason City, the Rev. Robert Paddack with officiate. Visitation will be two hours prior to service. Committal service will be a private family service held at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made to Memorial Medical Center Foundation/Hospice.
