Wayne M. Miller

Wayne M. Miller, 69, of Havana, passed away at Mason District Hospital in Havana on Sunday, November 09, 2008 at 4:55 a.m. He was born November 14, 1938 in Winthrop, MN to Noah and Laura (Schmidgall) Miller. He married Ruby J. Bern on December 21, 1962 in Winthrop.

Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Ruby, of Havana, two daughters: Lanette (Tim) VanEtten of Havana, Leslie (Mark) Lindgren of Mt. Zion, IL, one son: Shane (Joby) Miller of Astoria, and four grandchildren: Chloe and Luke Lindgren of Mt. Zion and Leif and Lane Miller of Astoria. Also surviving are ten brothers and sisters: Don (Bernadine) Miller of Lakeville, MN, Melva (Duane) Eckberg and Tom (Maggie) Miller, all of Winthrop, MN, Mary (Orlan) Kellenberger of Lamar, MO, Roger (Ruth) Miller of New Cumberland, PA, Judi (Jerry) Feucht of Lester, IA, Mavis (Frank) Miller-Hickman of Lakeville, MN, Brent (Kathy) Miller of Chanhassen, MN, Ilene (Gene) Grace and Mike Miller, all of Bloomington, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jean Ishaug.

Mr. Miller is a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of Tremont. He was a 1957 graduate of Winthrop High School and served in the Minnesota Army Reserves for 12 years. He was a lifetime member of Legion Post #0314 in Winthrop, MN, the Orpheus Club in Peoria and was a volunteer firefighter for several years in Minnesota. He worked for 3M in New Ulm, MN, was a former manager at Norris Farms in Fulton Co., Illinois Valley Computers in Pekin/Peoria  and later worked for Kifco in Havana.

Funeral services will be held at the Apostolic Christian Church in Tremont at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 with visitation one hour prior to the services. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.  at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Rev. Charles Sauder will officiate.
