Carroll "Wayne" Richardson

1937 - 2011

Carroll “Wayne” Richardson, 73, of Bath, passed away at Mason District Hospital in Havana at 1:13 p.m. on Thursday, January 27, 2011. He was born July 29, 1937 in Lincoln, IL to James and Lida Mae (Creason) Richardson. He married Sharon Rose Pierson on December 24, 1955 in Bath.

Mr. Richardson is survived by his wife, Sharon, of Bath, two daughters, Patricia (Bill) Painter of Bath, Brenda (Gary) Scheland of Kilbourne, son, Jeffrey (Michelle) Richardson, of Bath, six grandchildren, William Todd Jr., Sarah Painter, Trisha (Neil) Bailey, Gary (Kayla) Scheland Jr., Andrew Goben, Hailey Goben, nine great-grandchildren, Caleb and Noah Todd, Jake Pratt, Kurtis Painter, Kaylee Mae Rose Brewer, Kolby Shaw, Kelson and Kellen Bailey and Laikyn Scheland as well as several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are two brothers, Robert (Carol) Richardson of Kenney, IL, James (Anna) Richardson, of Bath, two sisters, Connie Danner of DuQuoin, IL, Barbara (Ernie) Richardson of Kilbourne. He was preceded by his parents, grandparents and three brothers, Dick, Jerry and Larry Richardson.

Mr. Richardson was a member of the Bath United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Family Camp and RV Club and was a member of Local #702 Electrician’s Union IBEW. He had retired from Ameren CIPS as a storekeeper after 34 years.

Funeral services will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 31, 2011. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Rev. Lester Burgard will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Bath Cemetery.
