Easton, IL - W. Dean Pottorf, 74 of 434 E. Mason St. Easton, IL died at 11:45 pm Wed. Sept. 21, 2005 at his residence. He was born September 23, 1930 in Mason County the son of Lyle M. and Velma E. Short Pottorf. He married Sandra M. Clementz, Jan. 2, 1982 in Easton, IL and she survives.

Also surviving are 2 daughters: Sandra D. Pottorf of Washburn, IL and Tina L. (Husband John) Kern of Springfield, IL; 2 brothers: Donald L.(wife Marjorie) Pottorf of Easton and Richard D. (wife Jane) Pottorf of Mason City, IL. He is also survived by 2 granddaughters: Catherine and Rebecca Kern and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Pottorf was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US Navy; a member of Havana Post #6408 VFW; Orphans of the Pacific; the National Rural Mail Carriers Association and the Mason County Farm Bureau. He worked as a rural mail man for 32 years from 1983 until he retired in 1995.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm Sat. Sept. 24, 2005 at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana, IL, conducted by Nash Shawgo. Burial will be in the Easton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 pm Friday at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Easton BLS or the Easton Community Improvement Fund.
