Wellington P. Behrends

1920 - 2008

Easton, IL - Wellington P. Behrends, 88, of Easton passed away at 6:50 am Friday, Sept. 12, 2008 at the Havana Healthcare Center. He was born Feb. 18, 1920 in Easton the son of Klaus and Marie Pelster Behrends. He married Norma Siltman March 7, 1965 in Havana, IL and she survives.

Mr Behrends farmed in the Easton area all of his life. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana, Mason County Farm Bureau and the Lutheran Layman’s League.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Wilhelmina McHarry and one brother, Wilmer Behrends.

Services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana conducted by Pastor Martin W. Liebmann. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Monday at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery at Havana. Memorial contributions may be made to his church of Havana Healthcare Center.
