William Francis Gleason
(1939-2005)
William Gleason of Havana, IL died 4:40 p.m. Sunday, 15 May 2005 at his residence. He was born 12 January 1939 in Petersburg, IL to Thomas and Anna Mae (Hohimer) Gleason. He married Judith Hackman on 22 January 1962 at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. She died December 12, 2003.
Survivors include one son: William E. Gleason of Havana, IL; one daughter: Elizabeth Rodgers of Havana, IL; 9 grandchildren: Christopher Gleason, Jason Gleason, Stevany Rodgers, Steven Rodgers, Lindy Rodgers, Nichole Rodgers, Marcus Crafton, Anthony Gleason, Shawna Thomas, 6 great-grandchildren: Jasmine Gleason, Lucas Gleason, Shawn Gleason, Tylor Cremeems, Brandon Rodgers, and Kyra Gossage; 2 brothers: Paul Gleason of Petersburg and Fred Gleason of Springfield, IL; 2 sisters: Ruth Thomas of Tallula, IL and Betty Jean Guttmann of Ashland, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and one sister.
Mr. Gleason served his career in the US Army Airborne from 1957 to 1982 as an E-7. He was also an avid bowler, a member of Havana Bowling Association and Havana Bowling Association Hall of Fame.
Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, 18 May 2005 at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana, IL. The Rev. Ann Windsor will be officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harbor Lights Hospice of Peoria or the American Cancer Society.
