William A. Knazavich (1925-2005) William A. Knazavich, 80, of Mason City, died 3:25 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at the Mason City Area Nursing home. He was born September 15, 1925 to William and Mary Ella (Kinnett) Knazavich in Taylorville, Illinois. He married Norma Peters, October 4, 1945. She died April 5, 1995. Survivors include three daughters: Cheryl (Larry) Stevenson of Castle Rock, Colorado, Mary Ella Knazavich of Rock Springs, Wyoming and Jean (Craig) Buckingham of Missouri, two sons: Gary Knazavich of White Heath, Illinois and Doug Knazavich of Decatur, Illinois, three sisters: Ruth Strumpher and Martha Bertoff, both of Taylorville, Illinois and Betty Perona of Tovey, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his wife, 2 sisters Kathleen Burch and Mary Deavers, one brother: Robert Knazavich, 2 grandsons: Aaron Sears and Kevin Stevenson. Mr. Knazavich served in the United States Navy from May 1943 until his discharge in March 1946. He worked at Schnepp and Barns in Springfield, Illinois as a press room foreman. Services for Mr. Knazavich will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2005 at the Christ Lutheran Church in Mason City. The Pastor James Child will officiate, burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, Illinois. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. |
