William G. Robertson

(1922-2011)

William “Gordon” Robertson, 89, of Mason City, died at 7:00 am on Monday, May 30, 2011 at Mason City Area Nursing Home.  He was born on March 2, 1922 north of New Holland, IL the son of Elliot “Buck” and Lizzy (Scott) Robertson.  He married Delores Wilcoxson, she preceded him in death.

Survivors include one brother: Kenneth (Mary) Robertson of Mason City, two half brothers: Darrel Robertson of Mason City and Johnny Robertson of Mexico, two half sisters Hazel Settles of Lincoln and Marjorie Gardner of Florida and his companion Betty McLaughlin.  He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one half brother and one half sister.

Gordon served in the United States Army during WWII.  He was a heavy equipment operator for the Lime Quarry in Lincoln and at Indian Point.

Funeral services will be at 11:00am, Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City, Visitation will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00am.  Memorial donations may be left to the Activity Fund at the Mason City Area Nursing Home.  Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City is in charge of arrangements.
