William H. Bauser, Sr.. 77, of Petersburg, died on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Memorial Medical Center.
Surviving are his wife, Doris; two sons, Jim (wife, Pam) Bauser and Bill Jr. both of Petersburg; three daughters, Billie Jean (husband, Rick) Weinert of Libby, Montana, Sharon (husband, Duane; deceased) Weaver of Petersburg, and Charlene (husband, Bob) Bergman of Corpus Christi, Texas; four sisters, Sadie Craigmiles of Kampsville, IL, Eula Masters of High Hill, MO, Margaret “Dot” Jones of Huntington, UT, Joann Schleiper of Pittsfield, IL; and one brother, Deiter (wife, Marge) Bauser of Petersburg. He has 19 grandchildren, 24+ great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
His parents, three brothers, and four sisters preceded him in death.
He was born August 4, 1931 in Michael, IL, the son of James and Edna Bauser. He was one of 13 children. He married Doris Jean Cissell on December 15, 1951.
Bill worked at Steven’s Implement Company, was a farm hand for the Guinan brothers, Menard County Animal Control Officer, and retired from PPG Industries after 13 ½ years of service. He owned and operated Bill’s Neighborhood Saw Shop in Atterberry. He was a lifelong member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he served as Deacon and Elder Emeritus.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 10:00 am at the Petersburg Untied Methodist Church. Rev. Richard Weinert and Billy D. Sexton will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 5, 2008 from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm, and also one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Graveside service will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg is in charge of arrangements.
