William "Junior" Eddings 1921 - 2007 William “Junior” Eddings, 86, of Petersburg, died on Sunday, December 9, 2007 at 10:45 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He was born on on September 5, 1921 in Chandlerville to William C. and Maude Daniels Eddings. He married Wilma Magee in 1940; she preceded him in death in 1966. He later married Dorothy Clara Knoles on February 22, 1975 in Lincoln, IL. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Petersburg; five sons, Leonard (Brenda) Eddings of Carthage, Jim (Barb) Eddings of Petersburg, Wayne (Karen) Eddings of Petersburg, Mike Eddings of Virden and Larry Eddings of Virden; a daughter, Judy Hollis of Petersburg; eighteen grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Russell Eddings , one daughter, Sharon Powell, and two sisters. He retired from the Post Office as a mail carrier in 1986 and retired from farming in 1998. He was a member of the Letter Carriers Association. He graduated from Petersburg Harris High in Petersburg. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Rev. Julie Peterson will be officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Kemmerer Village. Online memorials may be made at www.hurleyfh.com
