William F. Hardy 1932 - 2007
William F. Hardy, 75, of Havana, died at Graham Hospital in Canton at 2:35 a.m. November, 14, 2007. He was born September 13, 1932 in Oakford, IL to Leonard Loren and Ethel (Nixon) Hardy. He married Lulubelle Combs on August 11, 1951 in Petersburg, IL. She preceded him in death on October 9, 1987. He married Rayann Emken September 3, 1994. She survives. Mr. Hardy is survived by his wife Rayann of Havana, two daughters; Belle (Danny) Woods of Bluffs, IL, Billie (Adam) Wright of Havana and one step-son; Brent Emken of Havana. Also surviving are three granddaughters; Leighanna (Mike) Woods-Fendler, Desirae Behymer and Destiny Behymer; two sisters: Lois Huff of Peoria and Marjorie Commander of Florida; three brothers: James (Frances) Hardy of Delavan, Charles (Sharon) Hardy and Joe (Ann) Hardy, both of Havana; three foster sons: Matthew and Joey Swope and Nathan “Squiddy” Seals. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Lorene Conn and Belle Fletcher and three brothers: Orville, Leonard and Robert Hardy. He was also preceded in death by five infant brothers. Mr. Hardy was a born again Christian of the Pentecostal Faith. When he was young, he worked in the timber industry. He later worked for Crescent Forge and Shovel in Havana as a Machine Operator and Sheea Press Operator for 43 years. He had also worked as a handyman for several people, and in lawn maintenance with his John Deere lawn tractors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. Funeral services will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation two hours prior to the services. His daughter, Belle, will officiate the services at the funeral home. Rev. Ann Windsor will perform the committal services at the cemetery. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Memorial contributions may be made to Havana Mission of Hope, Trinity Broadcast Network or to the family.
