Willis “Bub” Blair, 79, of Chandlerville, died at his
home at
9:30 a.m.
on
Sunday, March 26, 2006
. He was born to John and Mary (Snyder) Blair in Chandlerville on
November 18, 1926
. He married Lynetta “Dot” McDougall on
June 29, 1946
in
Colorado Springs
,
CO
.
He is survived by his wife, one son Steve Blair of
Chandlerville and one daughter Jeanne Hogg of
Athens
,
IL
. Also surviving are three sisters: Eleanor (Paul) Sandidge, Beulah (Cloyd)
Ishmael, Claudine (
Alvin
) Pepmeyer and two brothers, John (Shirley) Blair and Paul (Verna) Blair; three
grandchildren: Gretchen (Todd) Hodgson, Marinda (David) Behrends and Brandon
Blair; and two great grandchildren Cole Hodgson and Tate Behrends and several
nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother Frank (Bertha) Blair
and one sister Doris (Jarvis) Hoesman and one son Terry Blair.
Bub was retired from Fiat-Allis where he was a crane
operator. He had raised cattle and farmed in the Chandlerville area his whole
life. He enjoyed visiting with friends and family especially “those boys”,
mushroom hunting, fishing. He was a member of the
Bath
United
Methodist
Church
and the Chandlerville American Legion.
Funeral services will be held at the Lintner-Hurley Funeral
Home in Chandlerville at
11:00 a.m.
on
Tuesday, March 28, 2006
. Visitation will be Monday evening from
6-8 p.m.
Burial will be at
Chandlerville
Cemetery
following the services.
