Willard Dale Sutton 1937 - 2007
Willard Dale Sutton, 70, of Oakford, died on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He was born August 13, 1937 in Springfield to Jesse Willard and Maxine Parrott Sutton. He married Sally Rhodes on August 16, 1963. He is survived by his wife, Sally of Oakford; his mother, Maxine of Oakford; three sons, David (Rebecca) Sutton of Oakford, Mike (Julie) Sutton of Petersburg, Benjamin (Melissa) Sutton of Oakford; one daughter, Tammy (John, Jr.) Doggett of Oakford; one sister, Polly (Dr. James) Harris of Wakeforest, NC; seventeen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Dale grew up, went to school, and was a member of the Baptist Church in Kilbourne, IL. He later became a member of the First Baptist Church of Petersburg. He served in the Illinois National Guard and the US Air Force. He worked for Ideal Industries for 31 years and Nestles for 11 years. He enjoyed playing softball and bowling. His favorite baseball team was the Cardinals. He loved and supported his family and was a proud Grandpa of each of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 28, 2008 at the First Baptist Church of Petersburg at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Thomas Eggley will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2008 at the Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg from 3:00 pm till 5:00 pm. Burial will be in Oakford Cemetery.
