Wilma A. Coker

1921 - 2007

Havana, IL - Wilma A. Coker, 85, of Havana passed away at 4:08 pm Tues., May 29, 2007 at her residence. She was born Nov. 28, 1921 in Adams County the daughter of Henry R. and Esther S. Anderson Aden. She married Forrest E. "Bud" Coker Nov. 18, 1945 in Clayton, IL and he passed away June 27, 1994.

Mrs. Coker was a retired school teacher, retiring in 1975 after having taught over 30 years. She received her education at Western IL Univ., then taught in Adams County, Galesburg, IL and Havana Dist. #126 from where she retired. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Havana for over 50 years, where she was active and did quilting. She was a member of the retired teachers association, loved her flowers and enjoyed friends.

She is survived by three sons, Michael (Linda) Coker of Westfield, Indiana; Robert (Sheila) Coker of Canton, IL and Tom (Monica) Coker of Havana. Thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one brother-in-law also survive. She was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Paul and a daughter-in-law.

Services will be held at 10:00 am Sat. June 2, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church in Havana. Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 pm Friday at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
