Winnie A. Brown 1926 - 2008
Winnie A. Brown, 81, of Petersburg, died on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at 7:55 a.m. at Sunny Acres Home. She was born on July 22, 1926 in Curryville, MO to Arthur and Mildred Brookshire Nadin. She married Leslie Brown on June 13, 1947 in Pleasant Plains, IL. She is survived by son Jackie (Linda) brown of Virginia; a daughter, Mae (Jerry) Jackson of Springfield; one sister, Betty Gaddie of Vandalia, MO; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a loyal friend, BeeGee. Her husband Leslie; a grandson, Travis William Jackson; and three sisters preceded her in death. Mrs. Brown retired from Ideal Industries in Petersburg as an inspector. She had also worked for Illinois Country Opry and the New Salem Concession Stand. She had enjoyed cooking and sewing. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 14, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of ashes will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Sunny Acres Home Lily Lane Ward.
